Left 4 Dead 2

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Okay, so it’s official. There’s going to be an L4D 2. Is anyone else as excited about this as I am? I have given it some serious thought, and I’ve decided that since there’s just so much on my plate with all the on-campus stuff that’s happening lately here at the Necro Compound, that I’m going to transition the NecroResistance website over to an L4D fan site. I took a vote with the members of the compound, and they all agree that for this site to serve a real purpose, this is the best route.

So beginning July 1st, 2009, this website is going to become the official site of the NecroResistance L4D Clan. Hey, we’re not just about preparing for the oncoming zombie war, we are about having fun too. So what better way to celebrate the coming Left 4 Dead 2 than by beginning an official L4D Necro Clan? We are going to start a forum to go along with this, as well as have open invitations for those that want to join.

I’ll continue to post topics related to life here on the Compound as well as true-life zombie information, that will never change. But in order to keep this site more lively, this seems like the best option. If you have an opinion on this matter, please feel free to post here.

Working on a Compound map for L4D

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

With the April 21st release of the new download pack available for L4D, they are going to be releasing the official SDK so that people can make their own maps for the game. I am going to take a shot at designing a map so that the Necros here on the Compound will know what to do in case of an attack on home grounds.

I’m going to make it as true to life as possible while sticking with the surprising feel that Left 4 Dead gives each time it’s played. I feel that this would keep everyone on their toes here on the Compound, while giving those on the outside a Virtual Tour of the campus while getting to kill zombies.

So be on the lookout for it. The release of the SDK will be on Tuesday, April 21st, and I will begin experimenting with it that very night. Alright, I have some work to do with a green recruit, so keep your eyes wide and your minds open. I’ll be back on here soon for some more updates.

Comics for the Cause

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

I have a suggestion for all those who might be interested in some late night research/reading. Robert Kirkman, who some might recognize as the comic book author who created “Battle Pope”, also has a series of comics that have been around for a few years called “The Walking Dead”.

I began reading these comics a couple months ago, and have found them to be a thorough wealth of knowledge. Kirkman not only explores the concept of living amongst the undead, but of the trials it can put the mind through. The hardships and tribulations of surviving with others in a world full of zombies.

These comics are now available in compiled books and can be found on eBay, BarnesandNoble.com, as well as abebooks.com. I suggest that if you want to expand your library, you should definitely look into this.

Also, with the coming expansion to Left 4 Dead, there will likely be a new Strategy Guide to follow promptly. For those who are already living at the Compound, these books will be available in the library soon after they hit the stores. All other members online are urged to buy the book soon as well.
