New Anti-Zombie Tank project

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

A local junk auto-parts dealer has agreed to donate parts to The Necrosistance in order for us to build an Anti-Zombie Tank.  We started converting an old bus, reinforcing and enhancing as we get new hardware.

The first step is to get rid of many of the windows and  reinforce the entire structure with steel.  We can’t go too crazy or the bus will be too heavy and put too much wear on the engine.  We are also cutting gun holes and mounting a chaingun to the roof.  The gun operator should be pretty safe, as the only way to climb on the roof is via an internal ladder.  Hopefully the zombies we face will be “George Romero” zombies and not ones that can super-jump.

Once we get the bus beefed up, then we can start working on telecommunications, radar, and thermal sensors (how else can we tell the difference between real humans and the undead at night).

We are also working on a fireworks and flare launcher.  This will help survivors find us for protection.  Hopefully, the zombies will find the lightshow fascinating so we can move through them without wasting ammo.

I’ll have more details as the Tank nears completion.
